PROJECT BIOMBO AGIR

​Biombo Agir European Commission (Brussels and Guinea-Bissau) 2018-04 to 2021-08 | Grant: EuropeAid/137145/DD/ACT/GW - Procº Refª 377047

It is a 30-month project to reinforce local governance and to provide services to the population, supported by the European Union. It aims to contribute to social cohesion and the promotion of good governance in the Biombo Region by strengthening local authority capacities, dialogue and cooperation with non-state actors towards the adoption of local development plans, involving regional authorities, civil society, other non-state actors, community leaders, leaders, traditional representatives and the general population.

This is a formalized partnership between the Municipality of Oeiras and GEOTPU.LAB, the Civil Government of the Biombo Region and UrbÁfrica - Association for Urban Cooperation and Development, associated NGO of the Union of Portuguese Capital Cities (UCCLA). ​

 

The Biombo Agir project is a contribution to social cohesion and the promotion of good governance in the Biombo Region of Guinea-Bissau by strengthening the capacities of local authorities, through dialogue and cooperation with non-state actors in order to implement local development plans efficiently and sustainably.
